We have been an official student org on the UNC campus since 2005. Our practices are open to UNC student, faculty, staff, as well as community members.

We are a member of Triangle Kendo & Iaido and register with the Federation under them.

Our summer practices have begun. Come check us out, summer is a great time to start kendo as many of the students are home for summer and so class size is smaller. We welcome all UNC students, faculty, staff as well as community members. There is no fee to begin. Contact our student representative Hrishikesh or our instructor, Mike Watson for more info.

About Us

The Carolina Kendo Club is a member dojo of Triangle Kendo & Iaido (TKI). The kendo club at UNC has been an official student club on campus since the 2005/2006 academic year. The instructor/sensei is Mike Watson, 4 Dan and he has been the instructor for the club since 2006. The head sensei for TKI is James Kim sensei, 6 Dan renshi and members of the other TKI dojo in Raleigh often come to our practices.
